Analysis of Laminate Thickness Influence on Compressibility Behavior in a Rift Process

چکیده
RIFT (Resin Infusion under Flexible Tool) process modelling requires accurate material data like resin viscosity, reinforcement compressibility and reinforcement permeability. During the mould closing, the compression phase and the resin flow are important stages that strongly influence the quality of the obtained parts. In RIFT process the upper mould is a formable vacuum bag: its flexibility makes the pressure field change the local compaction state of the reinforcement and so it alters the permeability. Preform compaction depends on its compressibility, that is influenced by laminate thickness: the aim of this work is to analyse the relation between them. Moreover, this analysis is carried out observing preform deformation during process condition, in fact compression is applied by vacuum bag instead of compression testing machine. An Investigation into the Deep Drawing of Fiber-Metal Laminates based on Glass Fiber Reinforced Polypropylene
Abstract Fiber-metal laminates (FMLs) are new type of composite materials which could improve defects of traditional composites in ductility, formability, impact and damage tolerance. Drawing behavior of a thermoplastic based FML was investigated consisting of glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene composite laminate and aluminum AA1200-O as the core and skin layers, respectively. The effects o...

This article describes a numerical study on the TOX-clinching process of the steel sheets. In addition, the influence of plastic anisotropy of the material on joining parameters is analyzed by evolution of the joint parameters such as undercut and neck thickness and punch force-displacement curve. Finite element analysis with ABAQUS/CAE-Explicit program is used to simulate two dimensional and t...

Background and Aim: Changing the color of resin luting cements could affect the aesthetic appearance of thin porcelain veneer. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of artificially accelerated aging on color stability of light-cured resin cement and flowable composite as a luting agent through the porcelain veneer. Materials and Methods: This experimental study was carried ...
متن کاملMOLD FILLING BEHAVIOR OF DOUBLE GATING SYSTEM IN ALUMINUMLFC PROCESS
The mold-filling behavior in the casting of aluminum alloy (A413) using lost foam casting (LFC) was explored. The effects of gate numbers, type of gating and casting thickness on the filling behavior were evaluated. Although, unlike convectional casting process, the gating system showed little effect onfilling ability, casting thickness created a greater effect on the mold filling. In contrast ...

Determination of porosity, permeability, and pore volume compressibility of reservoir rocks and those variations with effective stress changes are of great interest in petroleum engineering. This paper has studied the influence of pore types of carbonate reservoir rocks on pore volume compressibility as well as Klinkenberg permeability and porosity at different stress values. In the current stu...
